Our students attend LAB daily.  Learn how we target each student’s specific needs.","\u003Cp>At Eagleview, our students attend LAB daily. LAB is a 40-minute daily period that is dedicated to specific interventions or extensions for our students.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Here’s how it works:\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Every quarter, teachers look at a body of evidence including CMAS, NWEA MAPS testing, common assessments and observational data to determine each student’s placement into an intervention or extension LAB class.  \u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cul>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Intervention\u003C\u002Fstrong> classes are focused on Math and Reading and are taught by our talented Math and English Language Arts teachers.  Resource teachers and other case managers use this time to meet with the students that they support.  Each grade level also offers a section dedicated to a quarter-long class on executive functioning.  \u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Extension\u003C\u002Fstrong> classes are focused on extending the learning being done in Science and Social Studies classes and are taught by our equally talented Science and Social Studies teachers.  Some of these classes can last 2 quarters and have students engaging in Science Fair or the Young Chautauqua program.  Additionally, our Talented and Gifted Coordinator has the opportunity to meet with her students daily to work on their Advanced Learning Plans.  \u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003Cli>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>WIN (What I Need) Time\u003C\u002Fstrong> is every Tuesday and Thursday during LAB.  In addition to placing students for a quarter based on their needs, our teachers have the ability to pull students on Tuesdays and Thursdays to work on targeted support.  We have found that this targeted short-term intervention is very helpful for our students.  In addition, students can advocate for themselves and ask to go to a specific teacher for additional help.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003C\u002Fli>\u003C\u002Ful>\u003Ch2>Where does LAB come from?\u003C\u002Fh2>\u003Cp>Our talented staff and teacher leaders in our Guiding Coalition have implemented and refined our LAB process based on observations they have had at top schools across the country. \u003C\u002Fp>","Published","lab-2024-11-14","2024-11-14T22:27:35.849Z","2024-11-15T21:41:00.852Z","2040-11-01T21:27:35.849Z",[],[],[],[95],{"category":96},{"title":19},[98],{"link":99},{"category":100,"type":101,"id":102,"title":103,"url":11,"description":104,"imageUrl":14,"expireDateTime":105,"trackingCode":104},"General","Detail Link","eaafe8c0-a2d7-11ef-8549-0fe33489943e","Read about LAB time.","","2200-01-01T00:00:00+00:00",[],"\nbody {\n\n}\n\n",1775233730599]
