If you are unable to reach us, please leave a voicemail or an \u003Ca  href=\"mailto:ems-attendance@asd20.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">email\u003C\u002Fa> for Attendance.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Please include your name, student name, grade, phone number, and reason for absence.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>When absences occur, they will be treated as either \u003Cstrong>excused \u003C\u002Fstrong>or \u003Cstrong>unexcused\u003C\u002Fstrong>. Per Academy District 20 Policy JE, excused absences are defined as those approved by the administration, caused by temporary illness or injury, caused by a physical, emotional, or mental disability, or caused by suspension or being in the custody of law enforcement authorities. \u003Cstrong>If the absence does not fall within one of these four categories, it will be considered unexcused.\u003C\u002Fstrong> Medical notes may be requested if a student has excessive absences.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>When a student fails to attend school on a regularly scheduled school day and the absence has not been excused, the school will make a reasonable attempt to contact parents by telephone.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch3>Pre-Arranged Absence\u003C\u002Fh3>\u003Cp>If you know that your child will be out for multiple days, you may fill out an \u003Ca  href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fasd20websitestorage.blob.core.windows.net\u002Fwebsite-files\u002FEagleview-Middle-School\u002FExtended%20Absence%20Form.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Extended Absence Form\u003C\u002Fa>, or you can obtain one from the attendance office.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch3>Late Arrival to School\u003C\u002Fh3>\u003Cp>When students arrive late to school, a parent must call ahead or accompany their child into the building to check them in at the Attendance Office.  If a student has an early morning absence, the parent may call or write a note to the Attendance Office and state the reason for late arrival. Before going to class, all late-arriving students must report to the Attendance Office for an “Excused Admit Slip.” Any student checking in without a parent contact is unexcused.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Ch3>Early Departures\u003C\u002Fh3>\u003Cp>For safety and security reasons, students will not be released to any adult or sibling not listed as a Guardian in Infinite Campus.
