High Trails Basics
What is High Trails?
High Trails is an integral part of the sixth-grade curriculum in Academy School District 20. It is a four-day outdoor-education experience located in Florissant, Colorado. At High Trails, students will study many phases of the middle-school curriculum: ecology, history, conservation, geology, astronomy, and nature crafts, as well as the responsible use of the outdoors for recreational purposes. Responsibility, self-reliance, leadership, and friendship also grow during the experience. Our goal is to have No Child Left Inside and our school will work with families to accommodate the needs of as many families as possible.
