 Mrs. Peters

7th Grade Counselor

My goal as a school counselor is to assist all students in learning skills and setting goals to reach their full potential, express their individuality and be involved in positive educational experiences. Improving student’s knowledge of self and others will help prepare them for the challenges and opportunities they will encounter throughout life. As a student advocate, I work cooperatively with teachers, parents and greater school community to promote the academic, career and personal/social development of all students. I feel the key to building positive relationships and earning the trust and respect of the student is to listen, be empathetic, yet pragmatic, in order to balance teaching the student appropriate responsibility and accountability. I feel that all children have the right to be respected and to have an advocate. They need positive role models, and I am proud yet humble to be put into that position.

8th Grade Counselor

I am a "big picture" thinker who continuously works at walking his ‘talk’ in my personal and professional lives. I care deeply about my family, the children of the world and the outdoors. I am a Choice Theory counselor. Choice Theory is the foundation of my approach to counseling and to life, therefore teaching and practicing Choice Theory are a couple of my biggest passions.
