TAG Basics
All TAG students have an Advanced Learning Plan (ALP) which includes academic and affective goals. To ensure rigor and engagement, plans and goals are developed using a team approach between the TAG teachers/coordinators, students, families and classroom teachers. ALPs are consistently monitored and modified.
Programming needs are individually considered. Accelerated academic programming helps TAG students perform better and grow intellectually, and improves post-secondary performance.
TAG at Eagleview
In addition to the wonderful programming options available to all Eagleview students, Talented and Gifted students at EMS have access to the following:
Leveled Math Classes
EMS offers three levels of math at each grade level plus options for advanced independent studies through BYU online.
Talent Identification
EMS has more students identified as gifted in talent areas (music, art, performing arts, and dance) than any other middle school in D20! If your student is interested in a formal talent ID, we can help with that process.
Learning Extensions/LAB
All TAG students meet with the TAG Coordinator for 40 minutes every day in our TAG Lab class. This class leverages student choice to provide academic rigor, social-emotional support, educational and career counseling, self-advocacy strategies, and a sense of community for gifted learners as they work on their Advanced Learning Plans (ALPs) and other curricula designed with them in mind. For more details about their curricula, please scroll down to the TAG Programming section and click on the grade levels.
