The Pikes Peak Regional Science and Engineering Fair (PPRSEF) took place over the weekend, and EMS was extremely well represented. The fair had 70 total participants, which is 50% larger than last year's fair. Eagleview had more students at the fair than any other participating school, thanks largely to our amazing teachers (Jenine Winslow, Victoria Wise, and Elizabeth Busler) who guided students through this process during their LAB classes at each grade level.

Digital displays of many of the students' projects can be viewed on PPRSEF's Showcase Website.

Three out of the four fair categories were won by EMS students. Lucia Montello placed first in the Junior Physical Sciences category. Amber Kent placed first in the Junior Engineering, Math, and Computer Sciences category. Cameron Kempisty placed first in the Junior Earth and Environmental Sciences category.

The overall 2nd place grand prize was won by Amber Kent for her project "Cool Running: Using A Peltier to Prevent Heat Stroke".

The grand prize--1st place overall for the entire fair--was won by Cameron Kempisty for her project "To Grow or Not to Grow: Testing Biomass-Based Materials for a Greener World".

EMS brought home over $2,000 in cash prizes, and the PPRSEF traveling trophy will be housed at EMS until next year's fair.

As a result of their stellar performances, Cameron Kempisty, Amber Kent, and Lucia Montello will be moving on to compete at the Colorado Science and Engineering Fair in April.

All EMS projects are listed below. Congratulations to everyone who participated!
